(Stachys Byzantina Lanata) Perennial. Thick, soft, and fuzzy leaves and velvety purple flower spikes are sure to bring joy and pleasure to the sensory or rock garden. Fast growing plants form silver-green mats low to the ground and bloom summerlong, attracting bees and butterflies. Dried and fresh flowers are excellent in floral arrangements.
To Grow:
Start indoors 8-10 weeks before last. Press seeds into the soil but do not cover them because they need light to germinate. Keep seeds moist until germination. Transplant outdoors after last frost when soil can be worked. Prefers average, well-draining soil. Prefers dry, well-draining soil. Avoid overhead watering as it may rot leaves.
