Growing:
Direct sow after last frost. Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Surface sow then cover seeds lightly. Keep soil moist until germination. Transplant after last frost when plants have 2 sets of true leaves. Prefers average, well-draining soil.

Seed saving instructions for Billy Button, Craspedia globosa:
1. Allow the Billy Button flowers to fully mature and dry out on the plant. This indicates that the seeds are ready for harvesting.
2. Cut the flower stems just below the flower heads. Place the harvested flower heads in a clean and dry paper bag or a shallow container.
3. Place the container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Allow the flower heads to dry completely.
4. Once the flower heads are thoroughly dry, gently rub or shake them inside the paper bag or container to release the seeds. The tiny seeds of Billy Button are attached to fluffy seed pappus, which can be easily separated from the flower heads by gently tapping or brushing them.
5. To remove any remaining debris or chaff, pour the seeds and pappus through a fine-mesh sieve or screen. Lightly blow or fan over the sieve to remove the lighter chaff and separate the seeds.
6. Store the cleaned seeds in a cool, dry and dark place.
